Review of the new HP Pavilion Slimline s3500

HP Pavilion Slimline s3500 is the newest desktop on offer from Hewlett Packard. For all those, who have a fixed workstation, a laptop is an unnecessary expense. Yet a lot of people use laptops as desktops for saving space. But, now HP has introduced the compact, space-saving PC series named HP Pavilion Slimline s3500, which the manufacturers claim is one-third the size of a normal desktop PC. It’s a perfect PC for unlimited fun and creativity and is the ideal one for students and learners.

Build & Design

Not only is it compact and space-saving it also has a cool black look. HP Pavilion Slimline s3500 has sleek designer black parts that light up in luminous azure blue giving your workplace a stylish look. Even for homes, these PCs have the perfectly chic look. The product dimensions are as little as 105 x 340 x 275 mm (WXDXH), which would occupy a small area of the work space, home or study table. This makes it suitable for use in both homes and offices. The HP Pavilion Slimline s3500 deserves a 4.5 upon 5 score for build and design.

The HP Pavilion Slimline s3500 comes with the low profile Multimedia Cordless keyboard (2.4GHz) and a Cordless, optical, 2-button scroller mouse. Performance & Benchmarks

In terms of features, HP Pavilion Slimline s3500 doesn’t have the ultimate configuration, but given its compact size and perfect pricing the low configuration is well-justified. It has a 320 GB hard drive, which is great when you consider the price of the entire package. The hard drive is equal to the ones in Gateway MC7803u and 6930G from Acer (both 320 GB).

The graphic subsystem NVIDIA GeForce 7100 has advanced 3D graphic and video features. The HP Pavilion Slimline s3500 has a Turbo Cache with 128MB dedicated graphics memory and 319MB Total Available Graphics Memory as allocated by Windows Vista. Therefore, the video and graphics performance of the Desktop is excellent.

Given the compact, sleek design coupled with wireless devices, this desktop is most suitable for homes. The excellent graphics and video support make it a perfect workstation for animation and multimedia.
