The Pantech Matrix is one of the most popular dual slider smart phones, which have been recently released in the market. It shows both its number keypad and the QWERTY keyboard when slides and features HSDPA and GPS. Pantech Matrix has got many display options and is generally preferable for the one, who messages a lot, as it is a good messaging phone.
Build & Design
The Pantech Matrix slider is strong and sturdy. The Matrix is heavy, as it is dual slide handset. This smart phone is attractive with a shiny coat and smooth curves all around. It makes one feel comfortable to handle. At the edge of the phone, it has got silver border. The Matrix is available in three colors: blue, red, and black with green trim and has a small 2-inch display.
Keypad
The Pantech Matrix has its navigation array below the display. Number keypad and QWERTY keyboard are both shown when we slide the handset. There are three keys each on either side of the circular navigation toggle in the middle. These keys are skinny, small and hard to press, whereas circular toggle is easy to use. The number keypad is flat, small and arrow. It has curved delineations separating each line. When we slide the phone on other side, QWERTY keyboard is shown in landscape mode. The keys have bubble like texture, which provides for the one to type properly. The keyboard of Pantech Matrix overall is small and crowded.
Performance & Benchmarks
The Pantech Matrix is quite good dual-sliding multimedia handset, The call quality was decent but the speakers are not that well. The photo quality was very good with 1.3mega pixel camera it was bright, vibrant and sharp. The handset is bulky as it dual slider. The speed of HSDPA was good one and a game can be downloaded within a matter of few seconds. The battery backup is not good, if one likes heavy text messaging.
